Lift Kits For Cars – Both Rear Wheel Drive & Front Wheel Drive
For most rear wheel drive cars, UCL offers lift kits for cars that include custom wound lift springs or lift spacer cups. Other options include extended lift shocks and extended front control arms. Rear trailing arms help get your axle aligned correctly and pinion angle correct. Complete kits help maintain your alignment and factory ride quality. Fit 22″ up to 32″ diameter rims with no fender trimming and full U-turn.
Front wheel drive lift kits for cars include extended struts and/or lift spacer cups. Most FWD cars use struts in the front. In the rear, the car may use struts or coil springs. Custom coil spring cups are provided to give you up to 3 inches of lift. Fit 22″ to 28″ rims & tires without trimming the fender wells.
Universal Car Lifts offers a kit for virtually every year, make and model in existence. Kits can be used with any size rim from 22’s all the way to massive 32’s. Most UCL customers use 26’s and 28’s with their kits.

Why lift your car? How much?
Do you want to gain extra clearance for your big wheels? Most rim and tire combos over 22″ in size require a lift kit for cars. Without a kit, the tires will rub on the fender wells. You may also not be able to turn properly and in some cases, the rims will not even bolt on to the car. Some of the other reasons to use a lift kit in your car include:
- Increased ground clearance
- Fit 22’s and bigger
- Prevent your expensive tires from rubbing
- Better turn radius
- Better appearance
- Better handling with large size rims
How much you lift depends on the look you are trying to achieve. If you want the car to squat on the rims, a 7 inch to 12 inch kit is usually best for RWD cars. For front wheel drive, a 3 inch kit is often enough.
If you’re putting 26’s and larger wheels and don’t want to cut the fenders, we recommend at least a 13 inch kit in most situations. This will give you the “high riser” look where the car body sits above the wheels.
